Our Road Safety team has donated 30 sets of bike lights and hi viz armbands to registered charity Bren Bikes to help keep cyclists safe. Bren Bikes will fit the lights to bikes that they are selling.

Cheshire firefighters are advising businesses that from April 1st 2017 there will be changes to the way they respond to all Automatic Fire Alarms (AFAs). From this date onwards, Cheshire fire crews will not respond to any AFAs at the majority of business premises (including schools) unless a caller at the building reasonably believes that there is a fire.

It’s illegal to use a hand-held phone or similar device while driving, or riding a motorcycle. Changes to penalty points and fines will come into force from 1st March 2017 - motorists caught using mobile phones at the wheel will receive six points on their licence and £200 spot fine from 1st March 2017. Newly qualified drivers, who have a ceiling of six points for their first two years on the road, will immediately lose their licence if they are caught
